Critically, we only sell Certified Class IIa Medical Devices . This is now a legal requirement enforced by the MHRA, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency which regulates medicines and medical devices for the protection of the public in the UK.
Warning – Buyer Beware – If you are not buying a Certified Medical Device you may be buying a converted sunbed or an illegally imported device from a rogue trader. These devices may be untested, unsafe . Some of these products do not even carry a CE or UKCA mark as a guarantee of their electrical safety let alone a Medical Device certificate.
A device which carries Class IIa medical certification assures the buyer of two critical facts.
- The device has been designed, manufactured and tested (both in the lab & in clinical trials) to meet the high regulatory standards which Medicines and Medical devices must meet, to protect the public.
- The device is legal for sale in the UK.
